Q: Do I need a referral to come to M.O.S.T.?

A. You do not need a referral or prescription to utilize our services.  Anybody can see us for either 10 visits or 30 days for an injury/condition (whichever ends first) without a doctor’s referral or prescription.  After this period, a prescription is needed (this does not apply to our injury prevention/performance enhancement programs).  Insurance coverage for this 10 visit/30 day period varies, so be sure to contact your insurance provider to find out what exactly your therapy coverage is.  You are responsible for paying in full for your sessions at the time of service for whatever amount your insurance does not cover.

Q: Referral vs. a Prescription

A. After your 10 visit/30 day period, if you wish to continue your care some insurance companies (typically H.M.O.s) require a referral from your primary care physician (PCP).  Otherwise, no referral is needed, only a prescription.  A prescription is an actual written document provided by a physician to authorize rehabilitative services.  This is submitted to the insurance company by us in order for them to cover your visits.

Q: What should I bring to my initial visit?

A. Please bring your insurance card and driver’s license to your initial visit.  You may also download and complete our patient forms in our Forms Section to save yourself time.  If your insurance requires a physician’s script in order to cover payment for your sessions, please be sure to bring this is well.  It is also recommended that you dress in comfortable clothing that will allow your clinician to access the body part(s) to be evaluated and treated.

Q: How can I pay for my visit?

A. Whether paying in full or only your co-pay, we ask that you please pay necessary session costs at the time of service.  We accept cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard.

Q: How does my doctor know how I’m doing with my therapy?

A. We send regular updates to your physician, giving them a clear picture of how you are responding to therapy and what approaches we are taking in your plan of care.  Please be sure to keep your clinician informed of any scheduled doctor’s appointments, so that he/she can provide an update at that time.

Q: How long will my sessions last?

A. Typically, your session will last from 45 mins to an hour, depending on the severity of your injury/condition.
